Fresh Fest 09 is on Saturday 17th of October at Carrara Sporting Complex on the Gold Coast and is hosting some hot new up-and-coming bands alongwith a few old favourites.

Come along to see Grinspoon, Bliss N Eso, Spiderbait, COG, Resin Dogs, Kora, Bluejuice, Philadelphia Grand Jury and many more across three different stages.

Gates open at 10am. If you purchase tickets from 4ZzZ, a share of the ticket sales will go towards your favourite radio station – us! Tickets are $94 and can be bought from here.

Greenthief Butcher Birds

Also on Thursday, the Judith Wright Centre will be hosting The States, a free music and multimedia performance featuring gospel music, spoken word, video installation and magnetic sculptures.

Vivian Girls, Nova Scotia, The Legend with the Deadnotes and Feathers play the Step Inn on Friday 2nd of October from 8pm. Tickets are $28 + BF and can be purchased from OzTix.

Over at X & Y, the 6th annual Rock For Refugees is also on Friday night. It kicks off at 6:30pm with My Fiction, Starscream13 and The Inconsolables donating their time to help raise money for the Refugee Claimant Suppport Centre. Tickets are $10 presale from the usual outlets or $12 at the door.

This December, Sia is returning to Australia to yet again unleash her velvety voice on Brisbane. Sia plays The Hi-fi Bar on Thursday 3rd of December.



New Zealand Show (Tuesdays 6pm to 8pm) Tune in to the New Zealand show this week to hear punk band, The Rabble, live via telephone.
