CD Review: Nicola Lester

Lyrically winding through a girls diary of emotions “Colours” the debut album by Nicola Lester is honest with its soul and feelings. With simple yet effective delivery Nicola Lester joins the multitude of female vocalists as an equal.

I had the album in the computer at work all week. I often had to stop listening to have conversations. This made it hard to listen to and was the major reason that for me the album had to grow. Listening to such lyrical music in a disjointed way hurts the music. It wasn’t until I had a good hour or two to listen uninterrupted that I discovered the lyrics hiding behind the soft and cuddly voice purveying the tracks.

Nice.

A simple word but one that describe “Colours” perfectly.
