So we’re getting to the pointy end of 2009 and while the shops begin to play those oh-so-annoying Christmas carols over and over and over again, we at 4ZzZ want to give your ears a break and let you choose the music you want to hear.

We want you to sort through every song you heard played on 4ZzZ in the past year and pick your favourite. Done that? It’s no easy feat! But when you’re happy with your selection, it’s time for you to cast your vote for your favourite song of 2009 in the 4ZzZ Hot 100!

Remember, you must be a subscriber to vote and you can only do it once, so make sure you make your vote count!

VOTE NOW!

Voting closes on Christmas Eve and you can tune in on New Year’s Day to hear the songs that made the cut.

The Raveonettes – In And Out Of Control

The much-adored Danish rock duo have released their latest album ‘In And Out Of Control’. It’s a little more poppy than their previous releases, perhaps most similar to the album ‘Pretty in Pink’ but without the country sounds.

They’ve continued to keep that aspect of ’50s and ’60s rock with the underlying noise and electric instrumentation. A fun and upbeat album for the summer!

CULTURE / ART
Visual artists and photographers looking for a free and accessible space to host their work can apply to have it displayed at Cathedral Square Cafe. This cafe, which is located along Ann St in the city, is developing a community-based initiative and aims to support Brisbane’s local artists. TRAVEL
Golden Plainshttps://i1.wp.com/www.4zzzfm.org.au/images/uploaded/GoldenPlains.JPG
Where: Melbourne
When: 6th to 8th March, 2010

Golden Plains is not like other summer music festivals – there’s only one stage, the line-up is carefully planned to suit the mood of the day or night and there are times when nothing is planned so that festival goers can create their own traditions (like showing your appreciation of a band by saluting with your favourite piece of footwear). Golden Plains is one long lazy weekend accompanied by the best soundtrack. Bands include Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., Dirty Projectors, The Big Pink, Tame Impala and Midnight Juggernauts, just to name a few. The second round of tickets is distributed on Thursday 12th November, so make sure you sign up and enter the ballot for your chance to attend. Info can be found at http://2010.goldenplains.com.au/.
